Morfitts’ contracting operation moves to A F Connell Ltd.

J H Shouksmith and Sons Ltd. is delighted to announce that an agreement has been reached for A F Connell Ltd., based in Halifax, to acquire the contracting section of Morfitts.
This follows the announcement in December of a planned phased programme of closure for the Morfitts contracting operation, which is based in Leeds.
John Miller, managing director of J H Shouksmiths and Sons Ltd. said: “We are delighted to have secured an agreement with A F Connell to acquire Morfitts and we wish them much success in the future. The decision to close the operation was an immensely difficult one to have to make, and I am pleased that we have managed to find a much more positive solution than we were anticipating.”
Morfitts is part of J H Shoukmith and Sons Ltd., which also has five Divisions employing over 100 people operating under the Shouksmiths name in York, Leeds, Sheffield, Bolton and Gloucester. None of the other Divisions will be affected by the acquisition of Morfitts and will continue to operate as normal.
Morfitts Maintenance Services, which provides preventative and reactive maintenance services, plus delivers minor works projects for clients, will also not be affected by this decision and will continue to operate as normal.
