Shouksmiths and Morfitts and deliver the ‘complete package’ to new Norton College Sixth Form Centre

In another ‘complete package’ project, Shouksmiths and Morfitts have just completed the £700,000 building services contract at the new Sixth Form Centre at Norton College, Malton.

Working with main contractor Redworth Construction, the project comprised the installation of all the electrical, mechanical and plumbing services to this two storey facility, which features classrooms, a gym, a media centre, a learning centre and a café/diner.

In addition to the works on the main building, Shouksmiths and Morfitts also installed all the building services to the College’s new sports hall, outdoor floodlit tennis courts, farm buildings and an animal care building.   A range of environmentally friendly solutions have been incorporated into the design of the buildings, including solar collectors and a rainwater harvest system which supplies the WC's and urinals.

Paul Baldwin, Divisional Contracts Director, said: “By working together on the Norton College site, we have been able to successfully combine the skills of Shouksmiths and Morfitts to provide a truly integrated solution for the client.”
