Shouksmiths’ North West Division prepares to hand over project to new client Russells Construction

Shouksmiths’ North West Division is nearing completion of its contract with new client Russells Construction to carry out the mechanical works on LPC Living’s Radclyffe Park new build, residential development in Salford.

The six figure contract, which began in May and is due for completion at the end of the year, comprises 62 apartments and 17 town houses.  Shouksmiths’ work consists of installing the plumbing and heating services plus whole house ventilation systems to the town houses, and sanitary ware, water tanks and booster pumps to the apartments.

Carl Turner, Project Manager, Shouksmiths’ North West Division said: “We are delighted to have been selected to work on this contract for Russells Construction. Our expertise in designing and installing sustainable solutions such as the whole house ventilation systems, plus our ability to meet the tight timescales demanded by such a project and our commitment to providing great value for money has proved invaluable in our delivery of this contract.”

The mixed-use LPC Living regeneration project includes a Morrisons supermarket, a dozen retail units and a new budget hotel. Designed by Liverpool-based architect Falconer Chester Hall, Radclyffe Park is the latest phase in the regeneration of Ordsall which has seen LPC Living invest more than £150m over the last five years, delivery of a new primary school and improvements to parks and open spaces, in addition to new housing, retail and leisure opportunities.

Gareth Russell, construction director for Trafford-based main contractor Russells Construction, added: “The residential element of the Radclyffe Park is an important part of this mixed use scheme and will be key to the creation of a vibrant and sustainable community. The delivery of the townhouses and apartments requires collaborative working of all partners and our valued supply chain, of which Shouksmiths is playing an integral role.”
