Wass Monastery
Main Contractor: William Birch and Sons Ltd.
Built on a hill top site at Crief Farm, Wass, North Yorkshire, this is the first ‘new build’ monastery to be constructed in the country for around 500 years. Working with William Birch and Sons Ltd., Morfitts is delivering a £925,000 M&E services contract which involves a range of environmentally friendly measures including a 185 kW capacity wood chip boiler and associated fuel supply system. The project is due for completion in Spring 2009.
